This photo shows a typical "Air Head" jack such as was used in the oilfields and gasfields in the Town of Alma southern field. My Great Grandfather worked for the McEwen Brothers pumping oil wells until he was 92 years old and had fading eyesight. I was told he pumped over 80 wells on Alma Hill and had to visit each well twice a day checking oil lines and air lines and to turn the jack on and off. He retired at 92 years of age because he couldn't read the gauge of oil properly.
